Hedione®
Hedione® (also known as Methyl dihydrojasmonate) is a molecule found naturally in jasmine. This synthesized version is highly purified and contributes an elegant radiance to perfume compositions. It provides a photo-realistic naturalness to floral accords, especially white florals. Hedione® is a functional material, meaning although its actual odor is very light & almost imperceptible to some noses, it affects the actual structure and texture of the perfume by creating space between materials and opening up the middle of the composition to augment bloom and projection. Unlike many other perfumery materials, Hedione® can be used in large quantities in a composition without taking over or changing the characteristic odor of other materials in the perfume.
It is perfect for constructing floral accords due to its elegant & delicate nature. It’s odor is fresh, transparent, jasmine floral, green, creamy, radiant, with gentle citrus undertones. It is a key material for the construction of floral accords that is a staple in every perfumer’s palette.
