This heavenly rose absolute is created from the Rosa centifolia variety of roses grown in France. This rose type is also known as the Cabbage Rose. Known as the Queen of Flowers, the rose has been considered for centuries to be the golden standard floral for use in perfumery. It takes around 700 kilos of rose petals to create 1 kg of rose absolute. The Rose de Mai can only be harvested and processed into an absolute in the month of May, which leads to the rarity (and name) of this material. This rose absolute displays a heavy, sweet, dense, rosy aroma, which is voluptuously rich with undertones of honeyed fruits & a gentle woody core.
