Vetiver Essential Oil
Vetiver essential oil is obtained from the roots of Vetiveria zizanoides, a perennial bunchgrass in the Poaceae family. Also called Khus and the Oil of Stillness, vetiver has a woody, earthy, musty and slightly smoky quality that acts as a great base note that lends to a lush and elegant drydown. Because of its high sesquiterpene content, Vetiver acts as a wonderful fixative material for your perfume compositions.
This Vetiver was grown and harvested in India and has a slightly lighter, brighter characteristic than Vetiver from Haiti, which tends to smell darker, more dirty and predominantly more smoky. If you are looking for a lighter, cleaner vetiver, then this is the vetiver for you! Vetiver is also known for use in Aromatherapy and is said to help reduce anxiety and stress.
